The Government has agreed to provide £2.3m towards the cost of Reading’s Green Park station.

The two-platform station at Green Park is due to start in January with the first trains running by the end of 2018.

Tim Smith, chief executive of Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, said: “The LEP has committed over £9m to the scheme and this additional £2.3m from central Government will ensure the station is better able to meet future demands. It will improve connectivity along one of the most important corridors in Reading.

RARE’s offices are at Green Park providing quick access to the region.
